we’re here!

We’re here! And there’s a big, lovely tree in this front yard, too.

I put down Boh’s favorite rug (which was on the lake house porch), and he immediately claimed a spot at the door.

He mostly stayed on my bed during my early unpacking, but as soon as I was able to acquire a new-to-us couch, he settled right in.

I am in love with the main room of this house — a big open space for living and dining and working. After five days of cleaning and unpacking, this room is starting to look like home. (Special thanks to my mom — she’s been here with me, and it wouldn’t look even half this good without her help!)

Had my first bowl of yogurt and granola–with peaches!–in the new house. Happy colors, happy dog, happy rooster.

new couch.

Boh gave our new (to us) couch a full inspection before granting his approval. The couch is a little threadbare in places, but I like the shape, and the color will do for now. Maybe I’ll have to ask Eileen for advice on re-covering couches? Hers is gorgeous.

Still no knitting to share, but I’ll have an update soon. Instead, you get a picture of Boh lounging near yarn and fiber…

tears.

Yep. Tears. In my chair’s office today. Sigh. I’m just so tired, and struggling to get a handle on the last of my exam prep. I’m just so ready to be done with this part of the process, and it is only beginning.

I came home, cleared my head (by filling it with a pretty standard rom-com type movie), and now I’m curled up here on the couch with Boh, working through possibilities for the big chunk of writing I’m going to produce (ready or not) for part one of my comprehensive exams.

I have not been doing a very good job of letting off steam this week — and I need to be better, especially if I am going to do my best work come Tuesday. (Maybe that means I’ll actually finish that sock?)

Thanks for all the encouragement here in blogland, folks. Back to it.

(Apologies for the crappy phone pictures — I couldn’t bear to move Boh in order to retrieve my camera…)
