still life: dog with sweater.

Clearly, Boh understands portraiture.

And…not so still.

This is what yesterday looked like. Me, rotating from kitchen table to couch and back again. Boh, moving between couch, floor, and bed.

Also, this whole faking it thing? Works for more than just post-relationship sadness. I didn’t leave the house yesterday, but I dressed for work — button down shirt, earrings, cute boots — and I honestly think I was more productive. I’m going to try that again today. (I wonder, does it work if I just wear the same thing?)

Today? More reading. Also? More knitting. I’ve got about two inches left on the body of idlewood, as you can probably tell from that top picture. I’m heading out of town on Thursday afternoon, and I’d love to be able to take this sweater with me.

  1. Haha…Boh clearly has an artistic side. You’re so right about dressing for what you’re doing even if you don’t leave the house. The days I work from home and spend the whole time in my pj’s I really do act like I should be in my pj’s (i.e. don’t actually work all that much). It’s either the dressing up or going through the routine of dressing up that helps jump start productivity.

  2. Ahhh. I’m in the post-relationship boat. Thankfully I have a job and returned to work this week so I finally have enough distractions to keep me sane!

At least it wasn’t a sweater FOR Boh. My dad had me knit a sweater for his cat for Christmas. It was a knitting sin. I don’t know how I will ever repent. :)

  3. Boh! He looks like the sweetest guy ever and a trusty companion for a day of work. Glad to hear the dress-up strategy worked … I might have to give it a try.

  4. I should try the “dressing for work” thing on the days I work at home – today I’ve been “working” in my PJs and the work, it hasn’t so much happened. But part of the problem is that our house is so cold – I have to bundle up under a bathrobe no matter what!

  5. If I don’t dress ‘for work’ or simply for going outside I don’t get ANYthing done EVER. Hanging around in my PJs makes me feel like a slouch…
    Also, adorable Boh, as always!
